His audacity to say that this is a "mint" car makes me want to punch a puppy. This would have been a $2000 car 5 years ago. Maybe less.

This is a $1000 car in Japan. Maybe. Probably less. That said, he has one thing going for his description—it IS full stock, and I think that's what he means by "mint." He means "not fucked up by ricers."

I'd rather have a riced out car if it was in good condition. I like modded cars. I'd love an S14 Kouki with an RB25. Stockish look, maybe a small spoiler, lowered on Enkei wheels with just a dash of negative camber, medium sized lip. Only in white. Pretty much this, minus the wheels.

Have you seen American S13s that are 1000 bucks. They look something like this.

Usually (although not always), choose one.

...that exterior looks normal for drifting out here, actually. The cars are so cheap used/stock, people just buy them, throw on modifications, and drift 'em into the ground. Crash? No big deal. Gaffer tape and zip ties until that shit just plain falls to pieces.

They are cheap here as well, but they are only cheap if they are really really bad ones. Ones that have a broken valve, suspension problems, terrible body panels. I don't really mind any of these, cause I plan on changing a lot of it out, dropping a 1UZ in it and making it a track car, whenever I buy one that is. #justlifegoalproblems

Yeah, they're generally in pretty good condition here if you find one which is actually being sold through a private party who is not an enthusiast or through a dealer. And fairly cheap.

I have no idea

If I see it again I'll get more pics, a friend and I swung through this car meet at the last minute and I only took a few pics of interesting cars. Most things there at that hour were bullshit stanced Vw's and other shitty imports. This car caught my eye for obvious reasons

Yeah sometimes they are S14s with S15 fascia.

I am pretty sure the only VWs I see at a car show are stanced ones. It is like they have a hive mind or something.

I saw a few "kouki swapped" S14's there but I can assure you this was a legit silvia, which is the only reason it ended up on my SDcard. Otherwise I would have just walked right on by.

Kouki swaps are just fugly. Seriously, I don't get it. I also like how he could afford a Silvia but from the looks of it decided to stretch the tires.

That's funny, I think I actually know this guy. I'm pretty sure I rode in this car in high school. If this is who I think it is, then the interior of this car actually is legitimately mint, but I don't think I buy how it has been stored, given the condition of the paint.

It would make a nice project, but that price needs to be cut in half. CP.

Kinja'd!!! Sally O'Broder > Dsscats

The asking price is a bit high, but you know what? I would probably part with stupid amounts of money for an Isuzu or Geo Storm in good condition.

I almost got myself "mint" condition seats from one at a junkyard. Augh, if only they'd had sold the thing to me! Only thing wrong was the exhaust pipe that always goes bad under OEM spec. p_q

There's someone out there with $4-5k who is going to buy this car, and then promptly ruin it with stuff bought at Autozone. One less car in good condition, one more reason someone else is going to have for a markup.

The ad is all kinds of fucked up... it says it was a "granny" car, then says his uncle owned it. Then the seller calls his granny uncle a she.

Furthermore... mint means no lint on the interior, no scratches on the radio, no faded paint, no peeling clear coat. Mint it ain't.

Odd drift/240SX pricing and obsessions aside, the "mint" thing is, unfortunately, standard modern Craigslist BS. Every vehicle listing on there is "mint", "rare", and "clean" being sold by overly precious owners who can handle "serious offers only" and western civilization will end if any "tire kicker" or "joyrider kid" has a "low-ball offer". There's a very large bin of words that can't be used seriously anymore ("literally", "synergy", "artisanal", "extreme",...). I'm thinking "mint" is pretty firmly in the bin these days.

State-Legal. basically, the state doesn't give a shit, he can pay tickets on it just fine. However, if just one cop decides to look further back into the paperwork, Customs can (and do) come seize the car.
